5 Easy Ways To Rule Halloween

October 18, 2017 by fabfrugalmama

Halloween is a holiday I love AND dislike at the same time. I love that it’s boat load of fun for kids and there’s a ton of candy involved! (Who doesn’t love candy, right?) But, as the kids get older, I’m finding that the last-minute costume hustle and prep can be a bummer. So, I did some digging to find out how to de-stress this holiday.

If you’re looking for easy ways to up the fun factor this year, I’ve got a few ideas for you…

1. The Best DIY Costumes

These make-it-yourself costumes from the DIY Network are simple, cute and will save you from spending a ton of cash on something they’ll wear once. (Bonus points for making a costume for your pet! 😉)

2. Easy Halloween Party Ideas

Hosting a Halloween party can be a breeze! Check out these posts with fabulously spooky DIY ideas:

  • Halloween Party Games for Kids by Moms and Munchkins
  • Halloween Party Treats by Spaceships and Laser Beams

3. Netflix Has Halloween Covered!

Netflix has all the best movies to get you in the spirit, with titles for young and old alike! There’s no need to rent your fav on your digital box, because Netflix has Halloween covered. Seriously! There are SO many movies to choose from, ranging from child-friendly to spine-tingling. Click here to download a list of Halloween-themed flicks, available now. (Tip: many titles on Netflix are now available to download on your tablet, laptop or smartphone for times when you’re on-the-go, with no access to WiFi.)

My kid picks:

Despite what you may think, Maleficent’s storyline is actually very sweet and wasn’t too scary for my 6-year-old (he loved it!).

This mildly spooky film is a great choice for younger kids.

My family watched Hotel Transylvania and loved it, so we’re looking forward to watching the sequel this Halloween night!

4. Simple, Stylish Halloween Decor (On The Cheap)

Looking for Halloween decor hacks? Check out these amazing ones from The 36th Avenue.

5. Last-Minute Pumpkin Craft

It wouldn’t be autumn – or Halloween – without pumpkins. My five minute glitter pumpkins make a great kid-friendly project that will add the perfect finishing touch to your table, mantle or porch.

Whether you’re an unabashed lover of Halloween – or a reluctant fan like me – I hope these ideas will help ensure your Halloween is the best one ever!
