Cooking and I have a love/hate relationship. Just to be clear, I love to cook when I have the time. But I almost never have the time.
So, when I can combine two of my favourite things (eating and NOT cooking) and throw in “kids eat free”, well… that’s a winning combination!
That’s where Paramount Fine Foods comes in. My family recently had brunch at their Front Street, Toronto location and it was such a fun experience. Not only did I get a break from cooking, but my kids actually tried something new. (Yeah, I know… weird!)
Paramount is known for their middle eastern specialties, but offer a traditional brunch menu, too (eggs, sausage, etc). Manakeesh, a middle eastern breakfast staple (shown above), is available with a variety of toppings, and we were told it’s a “must-try” dish. We ordered the original (sesame and thyme) and cheese versions, both of which my kids tried. I was especially impressed that my six year old gave it a go!
My husband and I were a bit more adventurous; he ordered Fatteh with beef (a multi-layered dish containing middle eastern staples), and I tried kebbeh (spiced beef balls with cracked wheat). Both dishes were delicious! The kids ordered eggs, but were open to trying our food.
Fresh pressed strawberry juice for me, lemonade for the kids and arabic coffee for my husband, completed our meals.
The best part – other than the delish food – is that kids eat free on weekends (select items) from 8 am-2 pm! And, if you need coffee to start your day, you’ll love that it’s free (with any full breakfast entrée) every day of the week.
Trying something new never tasted so good! It’s reasonably priced food that’s not only fresh, it’s wholesome and delicious, too. Next time mama doesn’t want to cook, you know where we’ll be… 😉
