Canada’s Best Kept Frugal Fashion Secret {+ Giveaway}

When you’re in the know, it’s fun to share a great find. That’s why when I commented on my friend’s blog post, telling her how cute she looked during her trip to Hawaii, she was bursting to let me in on her frugal fashion secret…

Fashion (and More!) For Less

I had heard of Giant Tiger, but had never shopped there before. As a girl who loves to stay on the cutting edge of frugal fashion, I couldn’t believe I was missing out! 

Soon, I was headed to my nearest GT Boutique to check out all of their fun clothing and accessories, and ended up with some amazing stuff. I love mixing high and low items, so it was wonderful to see just how well all my frugal Giant Tiger buys paired with other items from my wardrobe. A picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ll let my images do the talking….

  

The black maxi dress (above left) is chic, comfy and only $20! The white lace shorts (above right) rang in at only $16, and are very versatile. I’ve paired them with everything from an inexpensive tank top to a high-end silk blouse, and they looked great both ways.

The pink and white maxi dress (above left) was just the thing to wear to an event at a winery… cool, chic and the beaded neckline meant I didn’t have to layer on any jewelry. (Truly carefree dressing!)
Giant Tiger had some great options in the accessories department, too, including this long gold-leafed stone pendant (above right) that adds a dressy touch to all my basic tops.

I love yoga and was impressed with Giant Tiger’s ACX Activewear. There are great colours, patterns and fabulous little details, like the print and mesh inserts on the sides of the pants. They’re super comfy and don’t droop or move around while I’m in a pose. And, at only $16 each, they won’t break the bank!

T-shirts are the foundation of any summer wardrobe, and I must say that I love GT’s amazing tees! I’m a huge fan of Lilly Pulitzer prints, and it just so happens that Giant Tiger’s line of myStyle t-shirts and tank tops come in colours that match my Lilly shorts perfectly. They also carry some pretty cute shoes in a wide array of fashion styles and colours, to complement any outfit (see below).

Not Just For Mom… 

While I’ve shown you all of my fab finds, Giant Tiger is a great place to shop for the rest of the family, too. With September approaching, I recommend making a visit to your nearest Giant Tiger to stock up on kids’ clothes, school supplies and more. My kids love their fun graphic tees – The Secret Life of Pets for my daughter and Captain America for my son. (There were so many cute choices, it was hard to pick just one each!)

They even have groceries, home decor, outdoor living items and more – so you can really make one trip count!

    I love Giant Tiger!! I have no idea what I would buy! everything is so amazing. I once found a kids pj set that’s a Mounties red serge! I’m saving it for Christmas (it was a bit more $$ that I wanted to give, but I HAD to. It IS the RCMP after all and I love them) I think I would buy patio cushions.

    I really need some patio chair cushions, and I saw a great set of two at an awesome price there not long ago. As well my favourite pair of black capri tights this summer came from GT and I would buy a bunch more. I’m a mom of 4 and they hold everything in, just like a mom could dream for lol 😉

    I love the clothes from Giant Tiger. As a plus size girl, I had always found it hard to find nice clothes that fit me. Now that we have a Giant Tiger where I live, I go clothes shopping several times a month because they keep getting different clothes in all the time. #gianttiger

    I would love to be able to outfit and get school supplies for my daughter a single mother of three children of whom two are autistic . I would also be able to help her get some more things for the home that she is trying to put together for the four of them.
    I have been a Giant Tiger shopper from day one ,the prices are fantastic and no matter which store you go to the staff are always helpful and friendly.

    Giant Tiger is a great place to shop. They are a Canadian store which is hard to find and try to support Canadian stores. At my local store the staff are always very friendly and often will go out of their way to help. I have gotten some great fashion finds as well as gifts.

    I love Giant Tiger for buying things to put in care packages to send to soldiers. They always have a great selection of snacks and fun things so I’d spend a good bit of the gift card on that. I’d also really like to get a stove top griddle to make a whole bunch of pancakes all at once.
