Ever since I was little Cinderella has been my favourite fairytale. Whenever I felt excluded, shunned or just plain different from the crowd, I’d think of Cinderella and how she always had kindness in her heart and a positive outlook. Despite being an animated character, she had a huge impact on me.
My daughter, now eight, shares my love of Cinderella. So when the live action version came out this year, we were thrilled. We sneaked away one mid-week afternoon and went on a mother-daughter outing to see it. We both laughed, cried… and truly adored the movie. The touching lessons about being kind, courageous, and never giving up were so vividly brought to life.
I strive to raise kind children who are open and loving, and who follow their hearts instead of the crowd. This movie is a brilliant reminder that every act of kindness – no matter how big or small – can have a profound effect on the world.
