Now my kids have a Paddington; it was given to them by their great-grandmother, who never forgot her British roots and loved the iconic bear, too.
Up until now, my kids’ generation hasn’t had much exposure to Paddington, but that’s about to change. In early 2015, he will get to share his adventures with us on the big screen! I’m really excited about this movie because the storyline is completely family-friendly… it’s the kind of movie little kids, and big kids alike, will love.
From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (the producer of Harry Potter), Paddington tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you,” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.
Check out the movie trailer…
The Paddington website is chock full of fun activities for kids, and I can’t wait to take my kids to see the movie; it’s sure to be a quite the ride!
