My Kids’ Toy Picks from Mattel {#MattelHoliday}

There’s nothing like the holidays to bring out the mini toy reviewer in all of us. This year, I actually had my minis help me with the reviews… and if they didn’t love it, it didn’t make it into my 2014 Holiday Gift Guide!

Many of their top picks came from Mattel… Barbie and Hot Wheels are ALWAYS big in my house!

Here are our favorites this year…

2014 Holiday Barbie

As a life-long fan of Barbie, I simply swoon each year when the limited-edition holiday dolls come out. Available in both blonde/fair skin and brunette/darker skin, the 2014 Holiday Barbie doesn’t disappoint! Her red strapless dress with gold lace bodice overlay and underskirt is a thing of beauty, and the addition of a large, gold statement necklace completes the look. I may be more excited about this one than my daughter… 😉

Hot Wheels Super Loop Chase Race

No matter how many cool tracks my son has, he always wants more… that’s because they’re so darn fun! Last year, it was the Triple Track Twister (which he still plays with) and this year, the hottest track is the Super Loop Chase Race. This has got to be the most extreme track I’ve ever tried – so extreme you need to mount it to the wall! With multiple loops and lots of track switches, I won’t lie… this is a loud toy. But it’s also a lot of fun. 🙂

 


Barbie Glam Camper

My
daughter loves this toy! She loves her Barbie Dreamhouse, so the Barbie Glam Camper was the obvious choice to add to the collection. Just like the Dreamhouse, there are a ton of fun accessories with this toy, which help make the role-playing experience with Barbie and her friends all the more authentic. There’s even a pool and a campfire! Bonus: no batteries are required for this toy. 😉

Thomas & Friends Track Master Avalanche Escape Set

This Thomas TrackMaster Motorized Railway is a great way to introduce trains to little kids. My kids, now 4 and 7, still play with the Thomas train set that was purchased 5 years ago. Classic, quality toys never go out of style and it’s nice knowing you can always add to the set if it becomes a favorite toy with your kids.

Ever After High Dolls

Since my daughter is a huge fan of all the Disney princess movies, it’s only logical that she would be drawn to the next generation… the sons and daughters of fairy tale characters.

I was able to snag some Ever After High dolls on sale during a pre-Black Friday event, so I don’t feel guilty about buying three! 🙂 Here are the dolls my daughter asked for this year – Apple White, Briar Beauty, Ashlynn Ella and Hunter Huntsman.

    We're big fans of hot wheels at our house. I bought two for the holidays. I have such find memories of playing with Barbie. The glam camper seems amazing. I'm coming over to play!
