Maybe it’s because Mother’s Day is approaching, or it could be –
despite my kids continuing to be the rowdy, rambunctious lot they are
every day – that I realized Mother’s Day isn’t just about celebrating one
day, it’s simply a token day representing all of the days we are appreciated
for.
The days when we kiss boo-boos, lend a listening ear, soothe souls,
prepare meals, and so much more; the days when life is flying by so quickly
that our spouses and children may not take the time to voice their gratitude,
but we know deep down it’s there.
Mother’s Day is the day when that deep well of thanks
overflows and manifests itself in the form of handmade gifts, cards and,
hopefully, lots of hugs and kisses!
For that reason alone, it is one of my favourite days of
the year – even if the crying, whining and rowdiness don’t take a vacation.
Well said! While moms should be celebrated everyday, we dont always recieve the recognition. Mothers day is about reminding others to just say "Thanks". As a mom, that's always appreciated. Happy Mothers Day!
Thanks, Maya… Happy Mother's Day to you, too!
What a lovely post, Mama! Well said and so true! I look forward to the hand made treasures this weekend – they truly melt my heart.
Thanks! Can't wait to hopefully see your kids' creations! I'll post some of mine, too. 🙂 And, Happy Mother's Day!!
Beautiful post!
