So we were thrilled to be given the opportunity to review Disney’s latest animated adventure, The Pirate Fairy.
Have you ever wondered about the early life of Captain Hook? All is revealed in this whirlwind adventure that involves Tinker Bell, her fairy friends and lots of Neverland lore.
About the storyline…
The Pirate Fairy tells the story of a fairy who – not unlike Tinker Bell herself – is a bit too curious for her own good. Zarina (voiced by Christina Hendricks) is a smart and ambitious dust-keeper fairy who’s captivated by Blue Pixie Dust and its endless possibilities. When Zarina’s wild ideas get her into trouble, she flees Pixie Hollow and joins forces with the scheming pirates of Skull Rock, who make her captain of their ship. Tinker Bell and her friends must embark on an epic adventure to find Zarina, and together they go sword-to-sword with the band of pirates led by a cabin boy named James, who’ll soon be known as Captain Hook himself.
My daughter and son both loved this movie. There’s something in it for everyone, from dastardly duels to fairy mishaps… and lots of lessons to be learned in between. This installment of the Disney Fairies franchise doesn’t disappoint; the fairies prove themselves to be capable and industrious, never giving up when the going gets tough, and showing once again that the power of friendship can overcome anything.
My kids’ rating: two enthusiastic thumbs up!
