My Little Pony Equestria Girls ROCK!! #FFMGiftGuide {Review & #Giveaway}

My 6-year-old started liking My Little Pony early this year, when she saw a few episodes of the show on tv.  Like any new show that my kids want to watch, I sat with my daughter and assessed the show enjoyed learning about the six main characters’ friendship. While some of the mannerisms and valley-girl-ish voices are slightly annoying, overall I felt that it’s an age-appropriate show. (One of the things I like about the ponies is that they have their own unique personalities and strengths, yet each one’s character flaws get in the way sometimes. In the end, the friends accept each other for who they are and figure out ways to get past disagreements – which is an important thing for kids to learn. But I digress…)


Fast forward a few months to the launch of the Equestria Girls movie, which my daughter really wanted to see. It turned out to be a really cute movie, with the “girls” being the human versions of the ponies (in an alternate universe, no less). While the premise is meant to appeal to slightly older kids, the sentiment was still the same – friendship wins out in the end and can overcome anything.  🙂

Needless to say, the Equestria Girls have taken off like a rocket! My Little Pony fans adore the newest addition to the franchise – and my daughter is no exception. She loves the Equestria Girls Twilight Sparkle Doll and Pony Set from Hasbro, and would love to get the rest of the gang, too (Hello, Santa? Just a hint…Princess Celestia, Pinkie Pie and Rarity are her other faves).

Mini fashionistas will appreciate Twilight’s outfit – it is adorably detailed with a crinoline skirt and funky boots; the set also comes with a few accessories for even more make-believe fun. Girls will be thrilled to play with the same character they’ve seen on the big screen – and the bonus is that the matching pony can be part of the action, too!
