Guilt-free Eating with Dempster’s THINS + A Giveaway AND a Twitter Party!! #WinWithTHINS

September 6, 2013 by fabfrugalmama

Every year around this time my body starts preparing to go into hibernation mode. All I want to do is wear cozy sweaters, snuggle in to watch movies (with big bowls of popcorn of course), and make yummy comfort-food meals like beef stew and lasagna. This all sounds dandy on paper, but what this does to my waistline is nothing short of disastrous.

It wasn’t always this way; I used to be able to eat anything I wanted. I gained a few pounds in my late twenties/early thirties, but then I had my babies and I was miraculously – thanks to constant nursing – back to my high school weight! Hallelujah!

But, all good things must come to an end. Now I find myself watching what I eat more closely, and trying to eat healthier, in general. I like to buy whole grain products instead of white and always check the salt and fat content, so when I heard that Dempster’s had a line of bread, tortillas and bagels with 50% less calories than leading whole wheat bread, but all of the taste, I had to try them for myself.

I love wraps, so I went in search of their new tortillas. Hubby made some awesome barbecued chicken thighs for dinner last night, and I couldn’t resist making a chicken wrap – complete with shredded old (light!) cheddar, baby spinach (we often use this in lieu of lettuce), and just a bit of buttermilk ranch dressing…. YUM! The Dempster’s THINS Tortillas were soft and delicious; in fact, I couldn’t taste the difference between them and conventional tortillas.

At that point, I was feeling really good about myself and ended up eating a cookie for dessert – eek!

Obviously, I’ve got to work on exercising my willpower… but for now I’ll take any calorie savings I can get. (Thanks, Dempster’s!)

If you’d like to try Dempster’s new line of THINS and get a chance to win some amazing prizes, then RSVP for the #WinWithTHINS Twitter Party happening on September 10th at 9pm ET. There will be over $1,000 in prizes up for grabs, including a Nike+ FuelBand!!

Even if you don’t win, you can still visit Websaver.ca to get a $1 off coupon towards your next purchase of any THINS product.

To find out more about Dempster’s products, and hear about upcoming events and money-saving offers first, visit their Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest pages.

Hope to see you at the Twitter Party! (You can RSVP for the Twitter Party here)
