but if you’ve got young children, you’ll understand my jubilation.
One of our favourite parent- and kid-approved restaurants is Mr. Greek.
We’ve visited in the past and it has been a hit, so we figured since we always
order the same beloved dishes (saganaki, souvlaki and gyros), we would go again
and try something new this time.
brought to the table, kids colouring pages and crayons were handed out and our
drink order was taken. I ordered my favourite, the Mr. Greek bellini. Oh so
good!
some of the dishes we had never tried before. My husband decided on the chicken
and shrimp peros, which was served with potatoes and lots of veggies. I
ventured out of my comfort zone and ordered moussaka, a completely new dish to
me. It came with a fabulous Greek salad and rice, and was really yummy. We both
really loved our choices, but we’re definitely creatures of habit. There’s something
about Mr. Greek’s chicken souvlaki that keeps us coming back for more, and it’s
definitely my favourite dish!

with french fries. My little guy usually doesn’t eat much other than fries when
we go out, but he actually devoured his chicken and said, “Mmmmm…yummy!”
(Toddlers don’t lie!) My daughter tried her souvlaki and responded, “Mommy, you’re right, I DO love this chicken!”. Needless to say, she ate it all (and most of her fries), but still managed to
save room for the highlight of the night…ice cream! My kids were treated
like royalty when our server asked if they’d like whipped cream and chocolate
sauce on top. Can you guess their responses?
good prices (kids meals are only $5.95 including dessert!), but for the quick,
courteous service too. And, if we don’t feel like dining in, Mr. Greek offers takeout,
delivery and catering services as well as call-ahead pickup.
restaurant “must-haves” – great service, quality food, fun for the kids,
healthy menu choices and good prices. It’s definitely a place I feel good about
taking my family, knowing that our food is prepared fresh with no MSG or added
preservatives.
Now, if only I could have Mr. Greek cook for me every day…
