I’ll admit I’m a clutterbug… not a hoarder or anything, but
I like having my stuff around me.
I like having my stuff around me.
Being married to a Type A, organized, ‘spare’ kinda guy has
made me more cognizant of this over the years, but I still have my little
bastions of chaos – like my nightstand and at least one drawer in my wardrobe. This,
however, doesn’t go over well with hubby. If he knows it’s there, it bothers him.

This issue presents an ongoing challenge – especially when I
run my business from home and the kids still need to be minded while I work.
Picture this… it’s after five o’clock and dinner has yet to be started. Toys are
strewn across the living room, on the dining room table (hubby’s latest pet
peeve), and dishes from the morning still lingering on the kitchen counter. This
does not a happy husband make.

So, I’ve started taking baby steps – one small de-cluttering
project at a time.
project at a time.
This weekend, I tackled my armoire – a big, hulking Ikea
unit with four sections that was crammed to overflowing with stuff. Ever since we moved early last
year, it’s become a drop-off spot for everything that didn’t have a home.

Well, I can proudly say it’s not an orphanage any longer! My
wardrobe has been weeded out, tchotchkes have been tossed, and endless
receipts, papers and other junk have been thrown out. I must say, it feels
pretty good… but not as good as it makes hubby feel. He’s the real reason I
did it. You’re welcome, honey. Happy (early) Valentine’s Day!!

You're so cute!
I am the same way – I keep lots of things, have a problem with clutter, but it does drive me crazy! It drives hubby even crazier!

Thanks, MTM! I'm glad you can relate… hubby thinks I'm the only one. LOL 🙂

Aren't you cute. I am the Type A around here and the clutter drives me crazy – think I will forward this along as a subtle hint as to what I want 🙂

Thanks, Rachel! There definitely needs to be one Type A person in each relationship – keeps things balanced. 🙂 Hope the post helps…it's nice to get the other side's perspective sometimes!
